ChanguiMusic: Changui SantiagoWhen I visited Cuba in 2001, I had the opportunity to travel to Guantanemo and record a type of music called Changui. I’m Jim Metzner and this is the Pulse of the Planet.Changui is said to have originated in the Guantanemo region in the early 19th century, blending Spanish music with African rhythms.
