Piranha
During the rainy season, we have little to fear from Piranhas. Nevertheless, having watched too many grade B jungle movies in my time, it is at first a bit disconcerting to swim amongst them in the Rio Negro. I'm told the time to be wary of these guys is during the dry season, when traversing an isolated section of water where the Piranhas haven't been fed for a while.
