During the course of one hour, the little brown bat can catch and eat 600 insects; to say that bats are important to our ecosystem would be a gross understatement. And so it’s particularly alarming that a mysterious blight dubbed White Nose Syndrome wiped out 10,000 bats in 2007 and has the potential to kill hundreds of thousands more in 2008....more
